Thousands of titles and a season of their own

A bookstore or stationery store keeps thousands of items: books that sell for years and books that sell for a month, notebooks and pens by the piece and by the box, paper, backpacks and art supplies. In August and September the school season brings more customers than the rest of the year, and schools and offices buy in bulk.

PUNCT scans books by the barcode on the cover and finds any title by its name or by the author written in its description. Stationery is sold by the piece or the pack, schools and offices get a price of their own, and the reports show which titles sell and which only gather dust.

Books that don't sell tie up money for months. ABC and XYZ analysis shows the titles that bring the revenue and those that stay on the shelf, and a supplier return sends unsold or damaged copies back to the publisher with their purchase prices. A stock count with a scanner then shows exactly what is left on the shelves.

What PUNCT does for a bookstore and stationery store

Books by ISBN

Scan the barcode on a book's cover, its ISBN, and the book is in the cart. Stationery is scanned by its own barcode, and items without one are found by name.

Search by author

The till searches the name, the barcode and the description, so an author or a series written in the description finds the book.

Single items and packs

Sell a pen on its own and a box of pens as a separate product with its own barcode and price, each counted in pieces.

A price for schools and offices

Keep a retail price and a price for schools, kindergartens and offices. The cashier picks the price type for the sale at the till.

Credit for regular buyers

Schools and offices that buy every month can take goods on credit on the terminals you allow, and every repayment is saved.

Returns to publishers

Record deliveries from publishers and wholesalers with their purchase prices, and send unsold or damaged books back with a supplier return.

Ready for the school season

In August and September a stationery store sells more than in any other month. PUNCT keeps the queue moving and shows what to order before the rush.

Several customers at one till

Keep one customer's cart open while you serve the next one, then switch back to it.

Titles that don't sell

ABC and XYZ analysis shows which titles and stationery bring the revenue and which have sat on the shelf for months, so you can return them to the supplier in time.

Credit for schools and offices

Schools and offices that buy every month take goods on credit, and each repayment lowers their debt in the balance history.

Frequently asked

Can I scan books by their ISBN?
Yes. The barcode on a book's cover is its ISBN, and the till and stock counts scan it like any other barcode.
Can a customer find a book by its author?
Yes, if the author is in the book's name or description: the till searches both, as well as the barcode.
Can I sell pens one by one and by the box?
Yes, as two products: the single pen and the box, each with its own barcode and price. PUNCT doesn't break a box into single pens by itself, so each is counted on its own.
Can schools and offices buy on credit?
Yes, on a terminal that sells on credit. Add the school or office as a customer, and the cashier picks its price type for the sale. Every purchase and repayment is saved in its balance history.
